Social Media and Content Manager

The Role

We are an established, successful and fast growing e-commerce business operating in the water sports market. Launched in 2004, wetsuitoutlet.co.uk is now Europe's largest online water sports retailer selling famous brands like Quiksilver, Billabong, Gul, Musto and Henri Lloyd to our passionate surfing, kayaking, board sports and sailing customers. Based in our London Bridge offices you'll be joining a passionate, customer focused team helping to build our brand and create an engaged audience.

We're looking for an ambitious and experienced Social Media and Content Manager passionate about content and how to engage passionate niche audiences. You will be responsible for driving the content strategy for both the website and social media channels, producing content yourself as well as managing external freelancers. You will work closely with other departments in the business such as marketing and merchandising, and conduct analysis to develop and deliver an innovative and engaging online presence. It's a great opportunity to create the strategy and own the delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Create, deliver and drive the content strategy including setting targets, communicating agreed targets and achieving planned engagement KPIs.
  • Review performance versus target and ensure appropriate measures are put in place to meet KPIs.
  • Develop and deliver innovative content on the website that drives engagement and sales, to include imagery, video and written content.
  • Commission freelancers to produce content and manage these relationships to ensure achievement of KPIs.
  • Develop relationships with bloggers and key influencers
  • Develop and grow the company's social media presence through appropriate channels to engage the water sports community.
  • Ensure that all content is appropriately representative of the brand and presents the correct tone of voice to build a shared passion with our customers.
  • Undertake competitor and market analysis to inform and develop the content strategy.
  • Drive the content strategy.
  • Contribute to strategy and planning meetings and work as an integral part of the management team to drive the business forward.

    Skills/Experience/Competencies

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Video and copywriting skills desirable.
    • Experience of working across a number of channels including web and social media.
    • Passion for water sports or action sports.
    • Excellent SEO knowledge and analytical skills.
    • Strategic perspective.
    • Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to influence internal colleagues and external agencies.
